High blood pressure is anything over this.
This means that if the diastolic is over 90 OR the systolic is over 140 (or both) then you are diagnosed with hypertension - so if this is your actual BP then you have just gone over the borderline into hypertension.
However - the diagnosis is not made on one reading alone as blood pressure fluctuates. It is best to have a number of readings (an automatic home monitor gives the best results) to give you an idea of how your pressure behaves.
If it is confirmed that you do indeed have hypertension you are an ideal candidate for making lifestyle changes to bring you back down - you can avoid drugs if you are determined.
