yes, if a high school student takes AP or honors classes, it increases their GPA (for example, if a student taking all AP and Honors classes gets all B's, they will still have a 4.0). It is also possible for schools that use a 5 point scale. In those cases a 5.0 would be the highest GPA that one could achieve. It is highly recommended that when filling out college entrance applications or adding GPA on a resume that you list it as 3.7/4.0 or 4.65/5.0 to show what scale is being used. Also it should be noted that some universities employ a 4.3 GPA scale in place of a 4.0 scale wherein 4.3 = A+, 4.0= A, 3.7 =A-, and so on.

∙ 12y agoFor a high school student, roughly the top 9% of students graduate with a GPA of >4.0. If you are in high school, then yes, it is good. If you are in college-you are CRAZY!!! I don't know how it is even possible to get a GPA of 4.3! Basically, it is either good or great.
