Your profile page has a section where you can write about yourself, your interests etc. Other sections show your progress, reputation and reliability as a contributor and any badges you may have gained. Much of this section is automatic but when other contributors endorse you it also increases your standing.
Actually, the site is both. You have a profile page and reputation or confidence points, but that mainly makes a difference if you are an expert contributor. If you are a regular user, then things are more wiki-based. So the site is a combination.

Mark Zuckerberg's email address is not given out to the general public. He has a public Facebook profile where anyone can follow him.
when you click on your profile and under your zwinky picture, there will be a button that says *edit profile* when you do just make your profile private
