The nursing program at Baylor University's Louise Herrington School of Nursing in Dallas, TX is prestigous and difficult to gain admission to, as they only accept approximately 75-80 student's per semester. Out of these, there are only around 40 graduates from the program each semester. Job placement and NCLEX passing rates are high (>95% I believe, but you would have to check the website to be sure). BULHSON has a large spiritual (mostly baptist) emphasis which can be either a pro or a con depending on your affiliation. One con is that nursing school is located in the Deep Ellum section of Dallas, a rather dangerous location. To compensate for this the dorm is attached to the school by a breezeway.
As a current student at BULHSON, I have been disappointed with the overall teaching quality and subjective (rather than objective) grading. Most of the students feel this way. Transferring out is difficult because Nursing credits do not generally transfer between schools, and BULHSON's prerequisites are different from most other schools.
