The University of Cambridge (UK) does have a Theological and Religious Studies program through Ridley Hall theological training college (seminary). However, Cambridge Theological Seminary (International) and the University of Cambridge in England are completely separate entities, non-related.
Cambridge Theological Seminary (CTS) is difficult to understand, as it is not a primary teaching seminary, but supplies Bible Colleges world-wide with curriculum online, free of charge. They are impossibly conservative, and only accept for Ordination Credentials those who believe The Bible is the absolute, inspired, inerrant Word of God, and in traditional marriage only.
CTS is like a 'global credit bank' - where those who have completed studies elsewhere - may deposit various transcripts for evaluation, or record keeping. As third-world governments and Bible Colleges rise and fall, CTS seeks to establish permanent, long-term records in the USA. They believe Ministers who have worked long and hard in Bible College - and often sacrificially - should not lose their records simply because a school closes, the founding Missionary dies, or a nation changes governments.
CTS evaluation does follow basic guidelines in semester hours, number of credits per degree level, thesis papers, and requirements that are standard throughout the western world. Any student may submit transcripts and records for evaluation, and no money is required for this evaluation. Please note CTS only evaluates Religious, Bible, and Church Studies, is only accredited theologically, and does not seek government accreditation.
Applicants may have permanent records made of their fragmented transcripts and recorded for long-term security, and for verification third-party to Ministries in other states and nations. CTS seeks to enable and empower minorities and wants those who have worked hard and long to have their work recognized, rewarded, and recorded long-term, there is no charge of any kind for those in third-world nations.
For those in the USA, there is a small fee charged for this service and mailing their records. A $10 dollar initial fee will get the process started. CTS is non-denominational, but seems to cater to Bible Baptists and Full-Gospel. Those who do not have the proper amount of college for credentials desired are referred to local Bible Colleges, or 'Distance Learning Schools' such as Liberty University, to finish studies.
In an ever increasing secular world, it's hard to imagine they can be successful long term. Be safe, go to a state university!
Additional information: Cambridge Theological Seminary International does not serve the secular world. If you desire a secular, academically certified degree by a state government, then by all means you should go to a state university.
It must be noted however that in the United States, the state does not hold authority over religious higher educational institutions such as Bible Colleges or Seminaries that are not engaged in academic instruction that is typically found in secular liberal arts colleges.
Additionally, many Bible Colleges are not even accredited by any agency at all, yet their degrees are recognized as legitimate in the realm of religious training! Due to this, at least in the United States, going to a "state university" may not accomplish a ministry student's objectives as state colleges cannot teach particular theology or doctrine such as Baptist or Pentecostal or Full Gospel. Only an appropriate Bible College is able to do that.
Therefore, Cambridge Theological Seminary does serve a useful function in the Christian higher educational realm, especially for those who have not been able to complete their college level Christian ministry or Bible education in a traditional format.

I'm up in the air about North Central Theological Seminary being a diploma mill. Both NCTS and Southern National Theological Seminary are Pretty much the same school, run by the same man, Dr. Philip Jegede who uses the name Dr. Philip Jay in the faculty page instead of his real last name. This makes it seem suspicious. The website and degrees on both sites are almost identical. The faculty members are identical for each "school", yet neither school webpage claims affiliation with the other which throws up another red flag of suspicion as if they are trying to double dip. The accreditting bodies that they claim "accredit" them aren't accreditted by the department of education. Another red flag, since diploma mills will create false accreditting bodies then have the "accredit" their fake schools to make them seem legit. From what I have researched, for theological schools, if the school isn't accreditted by the Association for Theologican Schools, or isn't regionally or nationally accreditted, don't go to it. Though I will say that I have looked at NCTS's curriculumn and it is pretty impressive. I would imagine that if you go to this school you will probably learn alot. Their courses look sincere, and the requirements for each course require tests, and 5-12 page essay. Some classes, like the critical thinking class, also require live class time according to their site. The Dissertation for the D.Th and Ph.D levels have to be at least 80 pages which seems legit. Most diploma mills I've seen, IF they even require a dissertation are 10-30 pages. Most schools require dissertations to be 100-300 pages from what I have read. . That's why I am up in the air about whether it might be or not be a diploma mill. I have seen real diploma mills advertise $100-$500 Ph.D's attainable in 12 months. Although NCTS and SNTS have some suspicious red flags, they seem sincere, and the degrees appear like they are going to take alot of work. Their Bachelors degree is advertised 2-3 years. If you wanted to get your Ph.D here, it is probably going to take 5-6 years. That doesn't seem like a diploma mill to me, since diploma mills try to sell you a quick degree with little effort. All in all, you will probably learn alot, but the degree received from both NCTS & SNTS is not going to be taken seriously by most people. They also claim that they are preparing to obtain regional accreditation. That might be a sincere statement, but it could also be a gimick to try to get you to "act fast" and get your degree while it is cheap, because once they get regional accreditation the prices are going to skyrocket.

It is important for ministers to attend theological seminary. They will learn much about theology, Biblical studies, preaching and a host of other subjects. They receive a foundation there that cannot be gained in any other way. While it is important to attend seminary, graduating from one does not begin to teach the young preacher all that he or she needs to know. Theological training requires a balance of learning and, equally important, doing. 1.The theology student needs to realize how much he does not know. While attending classes, the student is in a rarified atmosphere, surrounded by other ministerial students and scholarly professors. There is little opportunity to interact with regular people in real-life situations. In order to become the best equipped minister, a student needs balance. There are ways to achieve the goal of balancing study and real-life ministry. 2.The student minister should take every opportunity that comes to work in real-life ministry situations. There may be the opportunity to pastor a church or serve on a church staff. The student can volunteer to work in a charity or perhaps even start a new church. It is important to actually do ministry and not just learn about it. 3.The theology student should try as hard to learn in real-life ministry as he or she does in the classroom. So many things can only be learned by doing. How to relate to deacons and elders, how to perform the ordinances of baptism and the Lord’s Supper, how to actually help a family who has lost a loved one; there is so much that cannot be fully learned in a classroom. 4.The student should know that in Luke 2:52 the Bible says, “Jesus grew in wisdom, stature and in favor with God and man.” This says that the ideal development is four-fold. Everyone needs to grow and develop in wisdom, physical fitness, spirituality, and their relationships with other people. These four necessary ways to grow call for time to be spent in the classroom, but for much time to be spent developing outside the classroom. Balance is important.
