Eisenhower is featured on the US Dollar coin from 1971-1978. There were regular circulated clad coins minted each year except 1975 when two years of bicentennial coins were minted for 1976. There were also business strike silver coins minted each of those years known as "blue packs" and special proof coins encased in packaging called "brown boxes".
Also, each deceased US President will be, or has been, featured on the US $1 coin. Dwight D. Eisenhower, our 34th President will be featured on this special coin in the year 2015.
Never. His portrait was on the DOLLAR coin from 1971 to 1978.
There is no such thing as an Eisenhower half dollar, only an Eisenhower dollar coin.

One interesting fact about this coin is that Benjamin Franklin is playing the part of Ike. That's why most people call it a Franklin Half Dollar.
Please take another look at your coin. John F. Kennedy is on the half dollar. Dwight Eisenhower was very much alive in 1964 so his image couldn't be used on a circulation coin; he passed away in 1970 and his portrait was put on the dollar in 1971.
