The George S May International Co aka May Company Consulting has ceased all operations as of February 16, 2011 and is now officially "in receivership" and liquidating assets. The Illinois Department of Labor is also involved because of the significant amount of commissions and expenses that have not been paid to former employees.

Can a bank reopen a closed account you have closed?

Yes, a bank can reopen a closed account, but it typically depends on the bank's policies and the reason for the closure. If the account was closed voluntarily by the customer and within a certain timeframe, the bank may allow for reopening. However, if the account was closed due to fraudulent activity or other serious issues, the bank is unlikely to reopen it. It’s best to contact the bank directly to inquire about their specific procedures.

Can you reopen a bank account that's been closed?

No. Once a bank account is closed, the account number remains unused by the bank for seven or more years (it varies by individual bank). You may reopen a new account with the same bank, provided the first account was not closed by the bank for improprieties perpetrated by you.

Can you get bank statements from a closed account?

Yes, provided you are the owner or the duly appointed fiduciary of an estate. There may be cost involved.

Will it have a negative effect on the report if an account has been closed by the credit grantor because the card has never been used?

It may. I have heard rumors that the statement "closed by credit grantor" is considered negative and has an impact on credit scores. "Closed by consumer" is considered a positive and does not impact scores. This is unconfirmed and certainly not in writing outside of the scoring companies.

What is a closed account permanently mean?
