Another answerYes. So you do not have to be. It is written Romans 12:19:
Do not take revenge, my friends, but leave room for God's wrath, for it is written: "It is mine to avenge; I will repay," says the Lord. actually the answer is always no he has had to discipline people at times Deut 11:26-28 there he gave the nation of Israel a choice follow me and receive blessings chose to follow your path of the heathen nations around you and receive the maledictions it was always their choice the same with kids clean your room or don't and deal with what happens you may not like discipline and punishment are not acts of vengeance but justice when he will destroy the wicked in Noah's day it was divine justice they were warned 120 years in advance when Armageddon come it will be justice and relief for the good people and justice for the wicked.
Another answerYes, but God does not go looking for someone to zap for sin each day.Remember it is written
Matthew 18:
21 Then came Peter to him, and said, Lord, how oft shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? till seven times?
22 Jesus saith unto him, I say not unto thee, Until seven times: but, Until seventy times seven.
Does that verse covering forgiveness sound as if our Father takes vengence for every sin?
Vengence usually occurs only one time in a soul's existence in this 2nd earth age. That occurrence of vengence is written in the book of Revelation, chapter 20, its known as judgment. A soul has this life in the flesh and then 1000 years with Christ in order to get their act straight. If they can not obtain forgiveness in that timeframe (what is written in the book is wiped clean), then vengence is taken as judgment against that soul. If you want to understand judgment and how it feels, Read Ezekiel 38.
That said, does our Father punish those who abuse and deceive others? Yes he does and those verses are written all through what is called the minor prophets. There our Fathers stated "In That Day'. So what day is he talking about? He is talking about the day of the Lord which occurs only when the true Christ returns. Start with Zephaniah 1 as your reference for when our Father takes vengence (The day of the Lord) and who he take vengence against.
The word "vengeance" means "to punish." The God of The Bible is a God of justice (Deuteronomy 32:4; Daniel 9:14; 2 Thessalonians 1:6). Justice is giving a person what he deserves. Because God is just, He gives people what they deserve for their wickedness. This is His vengeance. In avenging evil, He is just.
At the same time, He is a God of mercy (Exodus 34:6; Psalm 86:15; Romans 11:31). Mercy is the opposite to justice; mercy is showing compassion on those who do not deserve it.
People seek vengeance because they have been hurt in some way and they want others to feel the same pain that they feel whether it be emotional or physical.

Parts of the Old Testament describe God as a wrathful and vengeful god. The New Testament insists that God is a loving god, but Judaism has not really resiled from the Old Testament description. The early Gnostics were unable to reconcile the two separate views of God, so they insisted that there must really be two different gods.
