The majority of Maryland has a humid subtropical climate with humid summers and cool winters, typical of the southeastern United States. Western Maryland has a humid continental climate with warm summers but colder winters because of it's location in the Appalachian mountains. Hot and cold is relative to people depending on where you live but i would say Maryland is more hot than cold to answer your question.

∙ 11y agoTypically, the coldest it can get is around the 20s. About two or so January's ago it got to 8 degrees, but usually anywhere from 10-30s in Jan.
