Is Model Productions Scam or real?

Well, my big sister was at the mall and saw the stages with the Model Productions signs. She tried it out. She read a short paragraph and did the catwalk on stage and also took pictures. She paid $150. A few days later she came back to pick up her pictures and then about an hour later, two girls came up to us. They said that this is a scam so don't trust this place. They also said that once their friend tried it out like us too. She paid $700 dollars because they said she will get to sing onstage with the Jonas brothers. She waited so long without any calls or notice. They also said that because some people don't have enough money, the staff just told them to pay $50. We were so shocked and mad to hear this. So is this all true or what? Do you think Model Productions is a scam or a real agency company?
