The planet Pluto may be considered because it's the smallest and farthest from the sun.
However, in actuality, Pluto is no longer a major planet and nor is it called Pluto. On 24 August 2006 the International Astronomical Union defined the term "planet" for the first time, and this definition excluded Pluto. The IAU reclassified Pluto within a new category of dwarf planets. After the reclassification, Pluto was added to the list of minor planets and given the number 134340.
Pluto is unique because it's a dwarf planet and it's smaller than the others.

Pluto also has an interesting harmonic relationship with its nearest planetary neighbor, Neptune. For every three orbits of Neptune, there are exactly two orbits of Pluto. This turns out to be important because during its orbit Pluto "crosses" Neptune's orbit and is closer to the sun than Neptune for several years. This harmonic relationship is such that Pluto will never crash into Neptune during any of these orbital cross-overs. There are some asteroids that have similar harmonic relationships with planets, but Pluto is the only planet (dwarf or otherwise) to interact with another planet in this way.

Mars is not the smallest planet because Pluto is. Though, scientists now say that Pluto is no longer a true planet. That makes Mercury the smallest planet in our Solar System.
Pluto, it is now a dwarf planet or planetoid.

Mercury is the closest to the sun. Pluto is the very last planet in our solar system so that's what makes it the coldest planet.
it's not made out of gas its a solid planet. It's a planet that was pulled out of another planet.
