Is kanpur vidyapeeth university recognized by UGC?

PTU is approved by AICTE but not UGC. PTU is not approved by UGC and actually they have not been recognized under the UGC Act 1956

This is what the website of PTU mentions that it is based on UGC nomenclature but nowhere mentions that it is recognized or registered under UGC Act

UGC Nomenclature

All courses offered by PTU are as per the nomenclature and guidelines of University Grants Commission that makes these courses universally acceptable.

DEC Approval

All courses offered by PTU under this program had been approved by DEC, Distance Education Council, IGNOU, New Delhi, vide its letter no.F.1-1/2006(JS/SU) dated 6th January, 2006 with retrospective effect.

The Chairman, DEC has categorically appreciated to the 11th plan by way of increasing the enrollment ratio through distance education. Refer to messages in this brochure.

The public at large and the student community in particular are, therefore, informed that as per the information available with the UGC as on date, there are following 255 State Universities established by the Acts of the Legislatures of different States.

Page 15 clearly indicates the list

Punjab Technical University, Jalandhar-144 011 is Not Declared eligible for grant under 12B of UGC Act, 1956
