Satan is called the god of this world in The Bible.
2 Corinthians 4:4 (King James Version)4In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.
So yes, in christian theology, Satan is a god, but not the God.
In theistic Satanism, Satan(also known as Lucifer, Azazel, Beelzebub, Enki, EA) is the true Father of Earth. He is considered the highest God among many Gods.
No Satan is the opposite, he is the Devil.
Answer:
He likes to think so... and man has set him so.
"...For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God... I WILL BE LIKE THE MOST HIGH." (Isa.14:13-14)
When Adam and Eve "obeyed" him in the Garden, they "disobeyed God"... and the worship of Satan by man began. And he became the "god of this world."
"...if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: in whom the god of this world hath blinded in them that believe not..." (II Cor.4:3-4).
Man's Creator "instructed" man in the beginning in the way he should go... but Adam and Eve didn't "believe" Him, and sinned, and "worshiped and obeyed another god." A worship and obedience that their children inherited.
"...and ALL THE WORLD wondered after the Beast. And they WORSHIPPED THE DRAGON [Satan Rev.12:9] which gave power unto the Beast..." (Rev.13:3-4).
Satan is passing himself off as a multitude of gods that are worshiped in the confusion of religious beliefs in the world. So, yes... Satan is the "god of this world." The god of the "children of disobedience."
"...in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience..." (Eph.2:2).
"For even if there are so-called gods, whether in heaven or on earth (as indeed there are many 'gods' and many 'lords'), yet for us there is but one God, the Father, from whom all things came and for whom we live; and there is but one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom all things came and through whom we live." (I Cor.8:5-6 NIV)
Satan is the god of this world whose days are numbered... and who shall be removed from power upon Jesus' return. [Rev.20:1-3]
Better in what way? God created Lucifer... they are not two opposing gods. God is the author of everything good. Everything bad in our world (hatred, death, pain, jealousy, war, and even a simple stubbing of the toe) are here as a direct result of Satan's disobedience. If he had not disobeyed and then tempted Eve in the garden, we would still live in a perfect world. So God is the author of everything good... Satan (or Lucifer, as he was called before he sinned) is the author of everything bad. Judge for yourself... which is better?
Yes! The Supreme Living God is more powerful than Satan the Devil. God Almighty, teaches us always how to PRAY (talking with God). Prayer makes every Christian a powerful one & keeping us away from Satan's work/temptations. Just keep on calling the Living God . Jeremiah 33:3 "Call upon me & I will answeryou".
Two sides of the same coin
because they felt that he gave them a better lifestyle in return for worshipping him than they did with God
There has not been a war of heaven and Satan did not win any battles against God. What had happened is that, when he was an angel, he thought himself better than God and thus fell and became who he is now. Satan has absolutely no power over God or any of his angels.
Surely all Christians regard God as more important than Satan. And those who do not believe in God do not believe in Lucifer or Satan. So there should be no case in which Satan is more important than God.
Answer There are no battles between God and Satan. No one has the power to fight with God. There was an incident of disobedience by Satan, when God asked the Angels and Satan to prostrate the first creation Adam, Satan refused to do so. This is what happened and it is recorded in the Holy Quran 20:16 and some other verses there was a first battle with God and Satan god kicked the devil out of heaven. Because e wanted to be more powerful than God he wanted to be better. Lucifer and 3thirds of the angles followed the devil to earth which are called his menions.
Satan was once an angle. He though he was better than God, and wanted to take Gods place on the throne of heaven. God instantly kick him out of heaven and into hell. The Bible tells a better story than I did.
Satan chooses to reign in Hell rather than serve in Heaven because he believes that it is better to rule in a place of his own making than to serve under the authority of God in Heaven. He values his own freedom and autonomy above all else, even if it means being separated from God.
He was an angel but wanted more power than God that's why he was punished
No he is not Satan he is the sun of God.
God allowed Satan to afflict Job with various trials and hardships, but He did not permit Satan to touch Job's life. Instead, God restored Job's fortunes and blessed him even more than before, reaffirming His faithfulness and sovereignty over evil.
Satan isn't god of anything. He is the ruler of Hell, meant to answer to God.
In the theory of catholicism, yes, god made satan. But he did not make him the devil. He was at one point an angel that decided that he was better than god so god kicked him out of heaven and he now reigns in the core of the earth collecting the souls of evil.
Jesus Christ, the angels of God have once defeated Satan and cast him out of heaven. So if it makes you feel better God can end this evil in the world whenever he wants and he could outright defeat Satan whenever
