Yes, Uranus is considered unique in that it rotates in a direction perpendicular to the rest of the planets in our solar system. Its poles are located where our equator lies, and its equator passes through where our poles lie.

Scientist orginally believed that the planet Uranus was knocked off its orginal rotation by a large impact with a planet the size of Earth during the formation of the solar system. Now, it is believe that the planet has its rotation due to multiple impacts of small sized objects.

Do all comets rotate on their axis counterclockwise?

No. Not even all planets rotate in the same direction (Venus is retrograde; Uranus is sideways); the rotation of (much smaller) comets is essentially random.

What makes uranus different from the other planets?

Because of the strange way it spins, nights on some parts of Uranus can last for more than 40 years. The planet's most extraordinary feature is the tilt of its rotational axis, which is almost perpendicular to the plane of the ecliptic, which means that it alternately has its north pole and its south pole turned towards the sun.

What only planet rotates sideways on its axis?

Uranus - I found it out on Are you smarter than a fifth grader.

How is the rotation of Uranus ulike that of most of the outer planet?

If you look at the entire solar system, all the planets, except Uranus, rotate in the same direction. If you call north up, then all planets rotate on that axis except for Uranus. Uranus spins on it's side in this model. While all the other planets spin on the North/South axis, Uranus spins on the East/West axis.
