It depends on if it is instant release or long action. Long action lasts for about 8 hours so you will get about 4mg an hour which is not much. without tolerance you would feel it but not be overwhelmed. Talking instant release 30mg is a fairly high dose (would only be achieved taking in recreational quantities).
..
i am on 30mg instant release 3 times a day ..90mg total...doctor may be putting it higher ..LA had not effect at all..
60 mg in one dose, is MEGA-BIG. 60mg is the MAX TOTAL per day. But I use Ritalin to feel energized, confident, social, productive, euphoric, alert, etc. I take like 40-60 mg of Methyphenidate (Ritalin) 3-5 times daily....I LOVE IT!! :D 60mg would give you intense speed like high, and may last longer since it's a high dose, but the downside is that since it's a mega dose, your crash when it wears off will be more intense, then with lower doses. But thats when I take a bunch of Xanax when I'm crashing from my Ritalin. If you want cocaine like effects, you have to take atleast 40mg of Ritalin in one dose... but i do 60mg and 80mg.
The recommanded dosage is always the lowest working dose. If 18mg allows good results, then it is the correct dosage. We start at a low dose, and we increased if we don't get any result after a week trial. Blood volume, brain chemistry and metabolism are the basic determining factors for what dose is ineffective, effective or "high". Concerta is available in 18mg, 27mg, 36mg, 54mg and 72mg extended release capsules. 18mg is the common starting dose for children and 18mg to 36mg for adults depending on discretion of the doctor. The maximum dosage of Concerta should not be greater than 0.9 mg per pound of body weight. For people switching to Concerta from Ritalin, the dosage requires careful consideration because 18mg of Concerta is much different then 18mg of Ritalin due to Concerta's precision time release mechanism. The following chart outlines the dosage equivalents. 18 mg Concerta = 4 mg Ritalin 3 times per day 27 mg Concerta = 6 mg Ritalin 3 times per day 36 mg Concerta = 8 mg Ritalin 3 times per day 54 mg Concerta = 12 mg Ritalin 3 times per day
The typical prescribed dose of Ritalin (methylphenidate) varies based on the individual's age, condition, and response to treatment. For adults, the maximum recommended daily dose is usually up to 60 mg, while for children, it generally ranges from 20 to 30 mg. It's essential to follow a healthcare provider's guidance and not exceed the prescribed dosage to avoid potential side effects and complications. Always consult with a doctor for personalized advice.
I was informed by my doctor that this was not a high dose. He informed me that a high dose would be 20 mg per day. Also, some people who have a Coumadin resistant problem can take up to 30 to 40 mg per day of Coumadin. If your INR is not reaching the target number, they will increase your dosage until they finally reach that goal.
The usual dosage of Ritalin for an adult is 10 - 30 mg per day, but can be as high as 60 mg per day. The effects of this drug should last 8 - 12 hours, but may not be as pronounced during the last hour or two.
I don't know much about depakote, but unless this nine year old weighs about 300 pounds, 30mg of daytrana is FAR too much. Im 18 years old, 5'8 and around 160, and even 20 mg for me is too much- i went down to 15. Daytrana is a patch, so it delivers the drug (Ritalin; a stimulant almost congruent to amphetamine) directly into the blood. Even though it is in a controlled amount ( 1-4 mg per hour), the effects of Daytrana are more noticeable and intense than pretty much any other kind of Ritalin. I don't know this 9 year old kid, but i know that Ritalin affects everyone in almost the same way, and 30 mg in a patch-form is extremely high. A good alternative to daytrana is concerta, in which the 36 mg dose would be more than safe for this kid. 30 mg daytrana patches have about 80 mg of Ritalin on them, so if he accidentally left it on for too long, it could get dangerous.
Taking two 10 mg Ritalin instant-release tablets at the same time can increase the overall dose to 20 mg, but it’s important to consult with your healthcare provider before doing so. They can assess your individual situation, including your response to medication and any potential side effects. Increasing the dose without professional guidance can lead to unwanted side effects or complications. Always follow your doctor's recommendations regarding medication adjustments.
Usual starting dose is 30 mg. 60 mg might also be used as the starting dose.
Dose of diazepam is 5 to 10 mg at bed time. So 30 mg pill can not be available in advanced country like Canada.
The safe dosage of Ritalin (methylphenidate) can vary based on the individual's age, weight, and specific medical condition. For adults and children over 6 years old, the typical starting dose is usually 10 mg taken one to three times daily, with a maximum daily dose often not exceeding 60 mg. It's important for anyone considering or taking Ritalin to follow their healthcare provider's guidance and not exceed the prescribed dosage to avoid potential side effects and complications. Always consult a healthcare professional for personalized advice.
The daily dose of recommended fiber for adults is 20 to 30 mg
Ritalin 30 mg LA (long-acting) contains methylphenidate, while Adderall 30 mg contains a combination of amphetamine salts. Both medications are used to treat attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) but differ in their chemical composition and mechanism of action, which can influence their effectiveness and side effects for different individuals. Ritalin typically has a shorter duration of action compared to Adderall, which may lead to different dosing schedules. Additionally, individual responses to these medications can vary, making it important for patients to work with their healthcare provider to find the most suitable option.
