We have a 2003 Dodge Intrepid and it has 249,300 on it. The alternator and radiator have been replaced and a broken wire has been replaced on the transmission. This car has the 2.7L engine.
No, you need a 2.7, or preferably a 3.2 or 3.5 liter between 1998 to 2004 for this car. It will probably cost more than the car is worth to replace the motor at this point.
Yes, if maintained it will last past 200,000 miles.
Any Pioneer or Sony decks will fit very well in any Dodge Intrepid, and will look good, too.
Will a 2004 Dodge stratus motor fit into a 2003 Dodge intrepid car with a 2.7 engine?
The Dodge Intrepid isn't nescesarily a bad car... The 2.7 engines are the problem. The 2.7 v6 engine is not tolerant of neglect, and the oil changes need to be on time. Also, converting to synthetic oil can prolong the life of your Intrepid. If you are looking to buy an Intrepid I'd suggest looking for the 3.2 v6 or the 3.5 v6. Good Luck!

A loose wire on a 98 Dodge Intrepid car horn will make it stop working. Another reason it may stop working is a blown fuse.
