Is a Dragonfly a direct decendent of a dinosaur?

Dragonflies were on earth long before the dinosaurs. Dragonflies are insects (invertebrates), dinosaurs are reptiles (vertebrates). They are about as closely related to each other as humans are to sea sponges.
