No, they're different types of hardware
You can use router of G or N type and the same type wireless adapter. Of course you can use wireless N adapter with G-type router and reverse.
All wireless adapters are the same.
If you have a wireless router just get a wireless adapter for the computer. It can be USB or PCI adapter. And connect your new adapter to the router in the same way as you connected the first computer.
Yes you can, by an external hard drive. Seagate offers a wireless hard drive that will connect to your ipad, iphone, and other wireless devices.you also can remove old NAND Flash on your iphone device, replace the 128G NAND Flash with same serial number, more information, visit: vipprogrammer.com
the diffferance is in the name
You can write to a flash drive and read data from the flash drive. It acts the same as a miniature hard drive, just like the one on your computer. It uses flash memory, hence the name flash drive.
The computer itself must have a wireless adapter to connect to wireless networks. It is also necessary to have a wireless router, which must support the same kind of wireless communication as the adapter(a,b,g,n), although an ad-hoc network can be set up with only two computers and no router.
You buy a wireless router, wire the desktop and router to the modem, and use the laptop by getting a wireless card or usb wireless adapter.
The most common type of wireless network adapter is one that is plugged into a USB port of a computer. It offers more convenience than a PCI wireless adapter card, which has to be placed inside a special slot on a motherboard of a computer. Something users may not be aware of is the maximum speed and compatibility of their wireless network adapters. For example, an adapter with 802.11g technology that is connected to a wireless router that uses 802.11 n technology will only get a maximum speed of the G band technology. For maximum performance, it is recommended to use an adapter that has the same 802.11 technology as the wireless router.
This is one of the reasons why I don't like this wireless adapter. It can only be used for an Xbox. There is another technology called powerline that can be used to replace wireless. Check this out: http://images.bestbuy.com/BestBuy_US/en_US/images/abn/2009/com/pcon/netgear_pwrline/netgear_powerline.swf You can get this right at Best Buy and it costs the same as the Xbox wireless adapter.
For such purposes you need at least two subnetworks. One adapter cannot be in the same time in both of them. Thus you cannot do that. If you connect your PC through wireless to another PC, and that PC is connect to the router with a LAN cable that it's doable.
