sailfish is different to marlin, marlin have a long bill and a large fin on its head and a large crescent shaped tail, sailfish are smaller and have one long fin on its head to its back.
the sailfish
The sailfish enemies are the Mako Shark being the main threat, many other sharks, and the marlin.
Both the Marlin and the Sailfish have a spined "fan" as their dorsal fin. The marlin's fin starts with a pointed ridge, then drops off as it travels toward the tail of the fish. (The fin resembles a Nike "swoosh") The sailfish's fin, on the other hand, has a high ridge in the MIDDLE of the fin, like a hump. If you were to use the fins to sail with, that of the sailfish would work much better, given the greater surface area. By the way, you didn't ask, but a swordfish has a pointed bill, but it has no "fan" on its dorsal fin. Hope this helps.
the swordfish has a longer snout and the sailfish's top fin is colorful to the point where it looks like a boats sail
The Sailfish, reaching up to 70 mph (110 kph). Then the Swordfish, reaching upto 50-60 mph (80-96 kph)
Marlins, sailfish and swordfish all look somewhat similar and are known as billfish. I do not know of any other name in English for the marlin.
Oh yes. A Basking Shark is set on permanent cruise control.

No. The SailFish is the fastest fish in the world. Next comes the Striped Marlin, then the Wahoo, and the Southern Blue Fin Tuna is fourth.
Most sources believe that the fastest recorded speeds of saltwater fish have been achieved by Swordfish and Blue Marlin, both of which have been observed to be able to swim at 80mph, especially when being persued by shark predators. The second fastest record belongs to the Sailfish, which has been known to hit 60mph. Swordfish, sailfish and marlin are all related species.
The fastest sea animal is the sailfish (marlin), which can reach 120 km per hour. I dunno about the other 9.
