Is a sheep cerebrum larger than a human cerebrum?
The human cerebrum has more gyri and sulci than the sheep cerebrum has. Thus, the human cerebrum evolves mental capacity over time but the sheep cerebrum doesn't.
I don't know that this is 100% accurate, and I'm not sure the exact number, but I am pretty sure that there are less convolutions and sulci of the sheep cerebrum than the human cerebrum. I agree with the person above, the convolutions and sulci of the sheep cerebrum are less than the human cerebrum, because the humans have evolved more mental capacity.
Because everything in a Human is bigger than a sheep's because humans are bigger than sheep.
The depth of the fissure creating the cerebral hemisphere in a human brain is larger than that of a sheep. This is due to the fact that the human brain is larger and rounder compared to the elongated brain of the sheep.
Which part of the mammalian brain is disproportionately larger than the corresponding part of a fish brain?
It is the Cerebrum. The mammal cerebrum larger that fishes.
What is the significance of the fact that the olfactory bulbs are much larger in the sheep brain than in the human brain?
The sheep need a stronger sence of smell that the human, the size of the bulbs provide have it
What is the significance of the fact that the olfactory bulbs are much larger in the sheep brain than the human brain?
This means that olfaction is relatively more important to sheep than in humans.
What is the significance of the fact that the olfactory bulbs are larger in sheep brain than in human brain?
It means that sheep use their sense of smell a lot more than humans do.
In a sheep brain, the olfactory bulbs are much larger than in a human brain. http://wiki.answers.com/Q/How_do_the_sizes_of_the_olfactory_bulbs_of_the_sheep_brain_compare_with_those_of_the_human_brain"
The colliculus in a sheep's brain are larger in sheep than in humans because sheep rely more and sense to survive, rather than humans who would reply more on cognitive thought.
Brain stem size is relative to the size of the animal. The brain stem connects the brain with the body. Humans are larger than sheep and so will have larger brain stems.
For one, the human brain is markedly larger than the brain of a sheep, the latter of which has less contours and ridges (and thus less surface area). Also, while the human brain has a rounded shape, the sheep's brain is more elongated.
Sheep are more reliant on their sense of smell vs humans who rely more on sights and sounds. It's a ''survival type of thing" for the reason why sheep's olfactory bulbs are larger. Hope I helped!! :)
Sheep will appear to have a larger carcass capacity with their wool on their body, however, goats are taller than sheep.
they are mostly the same except for sizer and the olfactory bulb and pineal are larger than a humans also sheep have a smaller cerebellum than us
As sheep use their sense of smell more than humans.
The human skull and sheep skull are quite a bit different. The human skull is more round than the sheep skull.
Why do you think the cerebrum is larger and more developed in humans than it is in other vertebrates?
A larger and more developed cerebrum gave humans the ability to reason and plan out our lives. In order to survive, humans needed an advantage. Animals have physical advantages, such as speed, strength, or camoflauge. Humans have mental advantages; they needed the ability to logically think through things. For this, humans need a larger cerebrum.
the fissures of a human brain are deeper than the fissures of the sheep brain
olfactory bulbs larger in sheep like the rat we dissected as well because of the need for heightened sense of smell for food, predators etc. these defense and survival mechanisms are more needed in sheep than humans.
What is the significance of the fact that the olfactory bulbs are much larger in the sheep brain that in human brain?
Sheep have a much better sense of smell than humans! As prey animals sheep evolved better smell to warn of advancing predators. Perhaps the sheep also need better smell for social interactions also.
Pigs can grow to a size much larger than a sheep, although many pigs are quite similar in size to sheep.
There are about 2 sheep per human
The sheep cerebellum is much smaller than the human cerebellum.
The sheep cerebral cortex has around 1.4 billion neurons and humans have 19 billion. There are fewer connection therefore in the sheep's brain than in the human brain. An elephant has a larger brain than a human's but by volume only. A larger animal has a larger brain but not necessarily more neurons. The brain is a computer and the more connections the more computing power.
The brain of a sheep is much smaller than that of a human. The sheep brain is approximately 10% of the human brain. Both brains have a fornix, which is again much smaller in the sheep brain.
Many people are saying that they are pretty much the same, only highlighting the difference in size. However, the question is not about the size of the cerebellum. Proportionally, the sheep's olfactory bulbs are larger than the human's are. This is because the sheep rely more on their sense of smell than the humans do.
because we have smaller necks
Yes there is more sheep in Whales than humans i don't know why but someone told me there was 40 sheep for each human. but i dot know i its true!
The neocortex (cerebrum) is the most evolved part of the human brain.
The sheep's fornix is larger than that compared to humans. In the sheep, it links things that the sheep smells to emotions.
Although sheep and human organs are similar in number, name, and structure, the organs found in sheep are smaller and somewhat different than those of their human counterparts. In spite of the similarities, one cannot exchange organs between the two species.
They sure are, much larger!
A Mariano sheep will yield between ten and eighteen pounds in one shearing. The male sheep is larger and yields more wool than the female.
yes there is a huge difference because sheep are fatter than average humans!

one of the reason might be its price.Human insulin is costlier then sheep insulin.
An adult is larger so the heart is larger. A human is smaller than an elephant and the elephant has a larger heart.
Yes, sheep are very much 'stupider than humans'. Sheep have very slow brains, thus the lack of 'smarts' as we say. Sheep can easily be herded and shaved and they couldn't care less about whats happening around them. It takes a pretty smart animal to be smarter than a human anyway.
Any predator larger than a small dog. Sheep are a very basic prey animal.
The cerebral cortex has four lobes that it can be divided in to. Sheep brains, although much smaller than human brains, have similar features.
They are larger than a quark and they're smaller than human, or small child.
An elephant's cells are not larger than human cells, depending on what type of cells we are identifying. The reason an elephant is so much larger than a human is because an elephant has many more cells than a human. Even though elephants are bigger in size, it does not effect the size of its cells.
Because a cow is much bigger than a human!
The fornix is roughly the same size in a sheep and a human. The human fornix is more developed though because it links memory to taste.
A sheep can produce 2 to 30 pounds of wool a year, depending on breed, genetics, nutrition, and shearing intervals. Generally, lambs produce less wool than mature sheep, and rams produce more wool than ewes of the same breed because rams are typically larger than ewes.
Not all human cells are the same size. There are cells of almost every multicellular organism which are larger or smaller than human cells. All bacterial cells are smaller than human cells.
C The human cerebellum is split in half while the sheep cerebellum is one mass Why do you suppose this structural difference exists?
May be because sheep are more intelligent than humans
Many animals lack an apposable thumb. Also the humans cerebrum is much larger than many other animals allowing them the retain memories learn, and read and write. A humans center of gravity lies in its hips therefore it is able to walk upright instead on all fours. This classifies the human as bipedal. we are animals, we just think that we're better than other animals because our speicies took over the world. Human Can Control… Read More
