Abercrombie & Fitch has gotten away with charging teens and style-fearing Americans ridiculous amounts of money to assimilate with the "lumberjack chic" look, so it comes as a bit of a surprise that they've fallen on times so hard that they're closing 110 stores. Have the male model armies thrown down their $80 mock-flannels and finally had enough? ​

At this point, we don't know if 20 of the A&F-run stores in Minnesota will continue blaring bad techno at deafening levels for their faux-woodsy customers or close their doors forever -- a frightening prospect for new high school freshmen everywhere (but not so much their parents and their wallets).

The MSP Business Journal points out that in Minnesota, Abercrombie operates six A&F stores, 10 sister stores under the Hollister name, and four Abercrombie Kids stores.

While we're certainly never happy to hear of jobs lost, perhaps employees and customers alike will use the time they'd usually spend shopping for four different colors of the same style of crewneck to -- here's a novel idea -- search out a style of their own.-the dressing room.com
