Possibly; that's still 15 years in the future. At this point (in August, 2011) we have no knowledge of any particular asteroid that's heading this way.
However, the last time that an asteroid hit the Earth (in 2008) we first saw it about 16 HOURS before impact. This was a fantastic achievement, because scientists had NEVER seen an asteroid or meteoroid before impact before.
Probably not. At one point scientists through that the asteroid Apophis might hit Earth in 2036, but that possibility has been largely ruled out now that we have a more accurate projection of its orbit. No known asteroids have a significant chance of hitting Earth in the next 100 years.
Well considering that it is 00:15 June 18, 2012, and it hasn't hit, I'd say no.
Maby only nasawill know unless they tell evryone to be prepared.
What asteroid? There were several.
U.S. astronomers said the giant asteroid could hit the earth in 2014.
Yes.
The Earth is constantly hit by small meteorites simply because space has no friction. Therefore, if a small asteroid were to somehow been flung out of the Asteroid belt (becoming a meteor), and was aim at Earth, chances are that it'll hit.
No. There is no comet or asteroid or meteor going to hit the Earth. Most of it is superstition.
What asteroid? There were several.
no it was not an asteroid that hit the earth, it was kevins big mouth
U.S. astronomers said the giant asteroid could hit the earth in 2014.
Yes. An asteroid probably hit Siberia, in Russia, in June 1908.
Probably not. I haven't seen any news about an asteroid about to strike Earth.
An asteroid is going too hit earth this weekend.
Yes.
yes! it depend to gravitational pull and the weight of an asteroid
Impact, as in hit, sure.
tilted by an near hit or hit by an asteroid
An asteroid would hit earth first
Technically, if it hits the Earth it's not an "asteroid", it's a "meteorite". And yes, meteorites hit the Earth all the time.
