Yes! Very much so! in many cases it is more dangerous then a standard volcano in that you are getting the pure super heated gases straight from the earth's mantle so there is no rock to absorb the heat.
Swimming near one is not my recommendation in fact its likely very detrimental to your physical well being if you get too close....

∙ 13y agoyes they are because when released hot air components and positively charged particles it can do a lot of damage. So next time your at a beach and there are volcano's around you and underwater take caution!
