In general, battery is source of electricity and not the heat source.

However, for common use of battery, battery can be a heat source though it is not intended to be. It is because the flow of electrical current through resistance would give out heat. If your battery heat up without cause then it is suspected for the short-circuit. Over charging or oversupply of electricity would also cause the battery heat up.

Explain one reason why the flashlight might not light?

A flashlight may not light if there is no energy source or in this case battery.

To light up a light bulb we need to connect to a?

To light a light bulb you need to connect to a source of electricity like a battery or an electrical outlet.

How does a flashlight work?

A flashlight has a power source (usually ordinary batteries), a light source of some sort (a light bulb or LED, for example), and some electrical wiring to connect them, with a switch to turn it on and off. The power source makes the light source give off light.

Is a light bulb a source of an electric current?

No. The term SOURCE means that it is a supply of electrical energy, and a light bulb does not supply electricity, it uses it. A battery, generator, fuel cell, or solar cell would be a source.

Why do we need a complete circuit for the bulb to light?

Its a power source such as a battery - Wire from the Positive on the battery to one contact on the lamp and a wire from the Negative of the battery to the other contact on the bulb

Which of these is a source for electricity flashlight radio battery?

How do you make electricity for a science experiment?

an electric circuit consists of a voltage source (like a battery), something to use up some of the voltage to keep it from short circuiting ( like a light bulb or a motor), and wires to connect the positive end of the battery to the light bulb or other device, then more wire to connect the other part of the bulb to the negative end of the battery.

Why does your car battery discharge overnight?

This can occur due to a light remaining on or some other electric device is using energy from the battery. The electrical system must be evaluated to determine the source of the parasitic draw. Typically however, if the source cannot be obtained, the battery is considered bad.

How does a flashlight project light?

Photons created by burning elements and gas are reflected off the inner mirror and projected outward. Flashlight by light source, battery, circuit, a hood and a reflective cup, circuit storehouse, switch, etc, the basic principle is the current from the battery, and then to the circuit, after adjusting circuit voltage and current, and then output to the light source for lighting.

What does it mean when the battery light comes on in a 2002 ford focus?

Bad Alternator or the Battery possibly is losing voltage. I replaced the alternator and serpentine belt before thinking it was the battery. The battery was only 16 months old. But it turned out to be the bad source.

Can you use a light bulb to see if it's a battery?

a bulb doesn't have a battery it has a curcit connected ( to your house) and a bulb that lights it upadd an ordinary light bulb is much too simple an object as to be able to determine the nature of the source of electrictricity.
