Well thyme is an herb so it probably is.
T. vulgaris L. is also known as garden thyme, and T. serpyllum is also known as creeping thyme, mother of thyme, wild thyme and mountain thyme.
Creeping thyme. It is perennial, grows only up to 4 inches tall; has tiny purple flowers, is edible (at least to humans) and can be walked on and mowed. It does, however, need lots of sun, and watering.
