No, fire is an oxidation process that releases energy in the form of light and heat.
NONLIVING
Note** THIS IS A GOOD GUESS.
This is a very good question. In current scientific definitions, fire is definitely non-living. However, philosophically, if we think of a living organism as something that consumes food (fuel) and uses the energy obtained to live and procreate (create more of the same organism), fire comes very close to that since it consumes fuel and makes more of the same thing (fire). However, biologically, fire is not made up of cells, and that alone can define it as non-living. Though if you think about it, the mechanisms living organisms use to generate energy, cellular respiration, is basically the same process as combustion (burning) since they have the same chemical equation. Cellular respiration is just a more controlled form of combustion.
i think fire is living!
a fire is just an inanimate force of nature that will burn the skin in different degrees.
It is chemical reaction happening between a carbon source such as wood, paper, etc, and oxygen. The product of this reaction is carbon dioxide among other things. This reaction produces energy in the form of the flame you see and the heat. simple answer, it is non living.
Everything in the Universe is living.
=============================
Except fire.
FIRE is a non-living thing because fire doesn't have cells
no. fire is nonliving because it is not made of cells and is 100% predictable when interacting. It also has no reason or instinct.
No, fire is not "alive". It is a chemical reaction.
Non living
No. Maintaining homeostasis is a characteristic of living things.
because it doesnt have organs

yes it is living
No, socks are not a living thing- or they might eat your feet! Neither is fire.
it can burn and kill animals and their habitats.

no.. only living things can have DNA, fire is the combustion of matter :)
Non living
no, it does not come from living matter
Yes, unless you caused the fire.
