Fluffy is a three headed dog in Harry Potter and the sorcerers stone (harry potter and the philosophers stone as a England copy). He guards the sorcerers stone in the 3rd floor corridor, along with a series of obstacles made by the teachers in Hogwarts school of witchcraft and wizardry. He is indeed a character in that book.
