Geothermal power is obtained where the magma from the center of the earth comes close to the outer crust. It is made by inserting bimetallic rods into hot springs. The soldering guns use electricity to make heat, therefore if you reverse it by heating the tip it makes electricity. problem is gasses are hot and corrosive, the land is soft and unstable .Therefore the danger lies in repairing the facility . I would not suggest using Old Faithfull now as the 50 mile across caldron is becoming very active.
