At first Jack is just as innocent as the rest of the boys on the island. Then when he starts hunting and killing pigs he is turned back to his primitive ways and the evil in him takes over. So in a way Jack represents evil in the book. But he does not represent the Devil, the pig's head on a stick or "Lord of the Flies" represents the Devil.

One of the many main conflicts in the story is good versus evil, represented by Ralph and jack, respectively. jack serves as the symbol of evil, as he is against the civilization and society of the island which Ralph is trying to keep together.
It seems to mean that Jack's presence was drawing out the evil in Roger.
The Lord of the flies is the head of the pig that is killed by Jack and his tribe halfway through the story. Golding refers to the way it 'summons' the flies. also, the word beezelbum means lord of the flies. It also means devil. The lord of the flies has a very religious message. Jack=satan simon=jesus
There is no mention made of Jack's family so it remains unknown to the reader whether he had one or not. The only mentions made to his life before his arrival on the island are in connection with the choir.
