Well all Halo's are different. Halo 1 doesn't have strong language there highest is B**ch and it's more bloody than violent, and most of the blood is alien blood (Blue, purple, green, and more colors...). Halo 2 it's like the same except the language is stronger and the violence is higher. Halo 3, Halo: ODST, and Halo: Reach is newer so there is stronger language (F**k, s**t, motherf**ker, t**t, a**, b**ch, d**k, d**n and more) (Also expect little stuff like coward, screw it, stupid, bullcrap, frick.) Also there is ALOT more blood and violence. If your family member (Whoever) doesn't get sensitive to violence and language than this would be a good game for that person. If the person is sensitive and can't seperate stuff from reality than it is not. I have almost all the Halo games and I love them. (It doesn't affect me.).

∙ 13y agoThe game itself is rated M, violence wise, it is not that bad. the swearing is abundant but not over the top. there is no intense scenes. most of the gun fire is colorful just because you are fighting aliens. 90% of the blood is blue or orange. if you are looking for a specific age range, I would say around 11 years of age. overall, its not bad.

∙ 12y agoI would have to say Halo Reach is more violent than Battlefield 3 when all of the graphics settings are maxed out. The main violent aspect of Halo Reach is that there's a LOT of blood. If you want to SEE how violent Reach and Battlefield 3 are, i suggest just watching videos on YouTube. I don't play Battlefield 3 so I don't know how violent it is. I'm sure Halo is just as violent as Battlefield 3.

∙ 11y agoYes, Halo 4 is violent. However, Halo 4 is NOT the most violent game out there. Halo 4 does not have that much blood and does not contain bloody scenes at all, and there is not strong language in it either. Personally, I think that if Halo 4 had no blood at all, it should be rated "T" and not "M" by ESRB.

Should 8 year old boys be playing halo 4?
Technically not, but the common misconception for the Halo series is that it is violent. The truth is that Halo 4 does not contain that much blood or brutal scenes, and the curse words in it are not strong, and neither do they occur that much. Personally, I believe that Halo 4 is probably one of the least violent "Mature" games out on the market.

Probably, Halo Wars but its a strategy game. The least violent first person shooter version of Halo would probably Halo Reach, or Halo 2. They both have less blood and gore and are the most kid friendly despite its M rating there has been much controversy about kids playing them. None of the Halo games are over the top violent though, but the least violent would have to be Halo Reach and Halo Wars.
