I think they have air ride shocks in the rear not the whole suspension.
Assuming you intend to replace the air units with conventional spring/strut units, the car will still ride comfortably, but it will be noticeably different from the ride of the factory air that you are used to. It'll ride more like a Taurus with the spring/strut units.
spring struts
Many companies sell conversion kits to convert the air ride sytem to shocks. Click the link to see one.
You have to remove the spring clip from the solenoid valve on the air bag and turn it left, which will bleed the air out of that air bag you have to do this to each air bag individualy.
Three ways of doing it. Air bags, a bit costly but do the job well. Add a leaf spring kits buy Hellwig but they can effect your ride a little. Or check into a company called Supersprings they have a good thing going and about 300 bucks and can add up to 5000 pounds depending on the model and they dont affect your ride like the Hellwig or the load leveler shock set up might. Or load leveler or air shocks, the one with a spring built around it, Monroe make them,or an air they only add about 800 to 1000lbs
The best way to fix this is to diagnose the system and replace the bad parts or you can put the aftermarket spring kit on the car... The spring kit's about $500 and new airbags can be had from ebay for about $80 a bag, or you can get everything to fix the air ride system (4 air bags with the valves, air compressor with a new dryer) for $500... I would fix the air ride if I was you because of the comfortable ride, beats the springs any day!
Yes, and you can also replace the air ride system with a standard spring/shock type system and solve all the problems you may have in the future with the OEM system for a little over $200. Click the link.
You really don't have to remove anything but the air bags and turn off the switch for the air ride system... But if you want to you can remove the Air Ride light bulb that will be on all the time, take out the compressor next to the battery, pull the air ride computer out which is next to the switch, and the hardest job would be removing all the air lines and the wire harness for it ... I would take everything off and sell all the good parts on ebay and you could get back some of the money you spent on the spring conversion kit.
there is a kirby air ride
A ride in the air, usually on machine.
Of course you can. You can convert the air suspension struts to regular shocks. Will run from $400 to $100 depending on where you go. You can disable the ride control by looking in the left side of your trunk and turning the ride control button to off if it has one.
