Yes, it is. Many sociopaths are narcissistic by nature (i.e. caring about themselves to an extreme). Munchausen's syndrome is related to Narcissism, as it is focused on attention-getting. Most sociopaths do not have Munchausen's, but most people with Munchausen's are probably sociopaths (or at least narcissists).

Is it possible to be raised with a narcissistic parent and not become narcissistic?

It is highly likely that a child raised by very narcissistic parents will not become narcissistic. They might struggle to undo enmeshment, dependence, and approval seeking behaviors. It depends on how much the child perceives his or her own sense of otherness in comparison to his or her parent.

What to do stepson is eleven possible sociopath and also have 3 little ones don't know what to do husband doesn't see it what to do?

You can't diagnose a eleven year old as a sociopath. Proffessionals agree that a sociopath can only be diagnosed accuretly as a adult. Once more many CEOs and leaders are sociopath, so your child might grow up to be great.

Is threat of exposure able to stop a sociopath?

I thought it would and I was very wrong. She actually somehow manipulated the witnesses into saying what she wanted them to and turned the table on me making me out to be the horrible person. Remember, they are extremely manipulative. The best thing to do with a sociopath is to put as much distance between you and the sociopath as possible.

How is it possible to guard small children from being emotionally exploited by their narcissistic grandparents?

By keeping them away from their grandparents as much as you can - and by providing a counter example, by serving as role models of non-narcissistic conduct.

How does a sociopath react when you outright bust him and let him know that he is truly a sociopath?

Sociopaths almost never recognize their lack of empathy and cruelness as a problem. so if you "bust" him or her, nothing good will come of it. Sociopaths will never change. The conscience boat came floating by when they were young and they never jumped on it, and the boat never comes by again. The best way to deal with a sociopath is to get as far away from them as possible. If you must have contact, have as little as possible.

How do you tell a sociopath that they are one?

If you were involved with one and he/she is a chameleon and fools others (only for a short time usually) then worry about getting on with your own life and realizing that others can look after themselves. Sociopath/narcissist will hang themselves every time ... they just have to open their mouths!
