The answer is maybe you can.

Because the cut is infected if you touch it you might get infected too.

But if you touch it clean the infected cut then that's ok as long you disinfect your hands after.

So you maybe can or cannot catch any thing from a dog licking a cut.

Depending on how infected it is.

How big it is.

best you get your dog to a vet.

Nothing will happen to your dog, and nothing bad will happen to you. Just be sure to sterilize the cut by cleaning it with soap and water, and then swabbing it with rubbing alcohol.

If you have any additional concerns, call your doctor and ask him. --------------- The dog licks wounds because that's all they can do. The dog is tending your wound the only way it knows. The dog has a highly acidic intestinal tract which means whatever they lick out of your wound will probably cause them no harm. Dog saliva has no special healing properties and, since a dog will lick its own bottom, the saliva is not especially clean. What will happen to the dog? Probably nothing. What will happen to you? Probably nothing, but your chance of infection goes up from the licking, not down.

Not neccasarily, as dog saliva has enzymes in it that help speed up the healing proccess. Just put antibacterial medication on it to get rid of any germs and it should be fine.
