Yes, cold medicine does expire. There should be an expiration date on the packaging someplace. If you cannot find the expiration date and do not know how long you have had the medication, it would be best to discard it.

In most cases, yes, if the medicine has been safely and properly stored, and if the medicine is not so old that you can't differentiate it from dust. The medicine will not be as effective as when it was before the expiration date, and there are exceptions to the previous statements, so IT IS BEST TO CHECK WITH A QUALIFIED M.D. AND/OR PHARMACIST BEFORE, NOTE BEFORE, TAKING ANY EXPIRED MEDCINES.And..." If in doubt, throw it out."

Yes that stuff will mess you up real hard if your looking for a trip. But if not i would definitely advise you not to take it.
