Depends.... Does the ball "jump" off the table and land on the floor? If so then yes. If it jumps off the table and lands back on with out falling into the pocket then no(like a jump). once the ball (any ball) hits the floor it is a foul. jumps are allowed in billards (except snooker i believe)

How do you legally jump the cue ball?

There are two kinds of cue ball jumps, one immediately after the cue strikes the cue ball and one where the cue ball jumps after contact with another object. A legal stroke to jump a cue ball immediately must strike the cue ball above center - this drives the cue ball into the table surface from which it rebounds. Strking the cue ball below center to lift the ball intentionally is called a scoop shot and is a foul. A cue ball can be made to jump after hitting a rail by using extreme draw or follow.

When a tennis player practice by hitting the ball against the wallwhich of newtons laws of motion is the player making use of?

When a tennis player practices by hitting a ball against a wall the player is making use of Newton's Third Law. According to Newton's Third Law, whenever one object exerts a force on a second object, the second object exerts an equal and opposite force on the first object, These two forces are called action and reaction forces. Back to the question, the tennis player is making use of Newton's Third Law because when he is hitting a ball against the wall, he is exerting a force. However without the wall exerting an equal and opposite force on the ball, it would be impossible for the ball to bounce back and the player to continue hitting the ball against the wall which is why the player is making use of Newton's Third Law.

How many inches can the cue ball move without hitting a ball?

There is no limit, however for most games, the cue ball must hit the object ball and a ball must hit a rail afterwards. Considering that a ball can travel 8 rails or more without hitting a ball and still be capable of making a legal shot the ball may have travelled more than 800 inches.
