It's probably not your sinuses that are bleeding, but perhaps the inner lining of your nose, or nasal mucosa. The humidity level in the winter drops drastically, and the dry air outside, coupled with the dry air of a house furnace or heater will make it harder for your nasal mucosa to remain moist. When the dryness becomes too much, a small scab or dried mucous can form and can break off from the lining of your nasal mucosa occasionally exposing a blood vessel underneath it. When this happens, your nose bleeds. There are other causes, but this is perhaps a more common cause.
