I think any type of bleeding signals a trip to your doctors office for an ultrasound in your early weeks in pregnancy. I read so many online blogs about spotting while being 7 weeks pregnant and it gave me hope and made me optimistic. I had my first ultrasound when I was 6 weeks 5 days pregnant and we captured babies heartbeat at 128 beats and baby measured at almost 7 weeks. The next evening, I went to the restroom late that night and I had spotted a pink and clear gel like color on my panty liner and while I was wiping it was the same thing. I panicked and cried, etc. Then I read blogs about it that said it was just the vaginal U/S I got Friday. I still couldn't sleep well that night. I bet I wiped and looked at the white toilet paper a thousand times during this pregnancy for anything. I used the bathroom alot that night and it went back to clear after about 5 urine breaks. Next day, nothing happened. Clear wiping, clear panty liner. By Sunday, I had a brown spot on my liner and when I wiped, it was a little bit brown on the toilet tissue. No blood, just brown spotting. Monday, I had no spotting and liner and tissue were clear. Tuesday-I went to urinate and there was a bright pinkish red gel spotting when I wiped and on my pantyliner. I went straight to the hospital at my care group and they did an ultrasound. There was no heartbeat and they said I'd miscarried and that the sack was too small for a baby. I can't begin to tell you how I felt considering this is my 3rd miscarriage and I saw the baby and heard its heartbeat just 4 days earlier. Anyway, I'm jot trying to scare you, I just think you ought to listen to your body and go to the doctor for any type of spotting. I had no painful cramps and no gush of blood. I'm still spotting currently and just waiting for the rest of everything to come out as I'm writing this. I hope this helps someone out there. May God be with each and everyone of you.
