No, this is not ideal at all. Cooled boiled water with salt can help at keeping infection at bay for a short time, but in no way is it a ideal treatment. Any wound found on a pet should be looked at by a vet, as open wounds can very easily become infected. A vet will be able to administer antibiotics and other treatment if needed.
Depending on where and how large the abscess is, you can normally treat it with some warm water and iodine. Use a sponge to clean the wound, you should do this everyday. If the animal is not other wise sick or the wound is not infected than this alone should be ok. If the wound is infected, penicillin should be administered, if you are unaware about administration, your best bet is to call your veterinarian.
I would not treat your cat with oil of oregano unless your vet says it is ok. Call up your vet and ask. You wouldn't want to hurt your cat by using something that is bad for it.
I just found out my cat likes lettuce also. I wouldn't replace your cats normal diet of cat food with lettuce but an occasional treat should be ok. As with any treat too much is just too much so don't over do it.

There is nothing that states that Bok Choy is harmful to cats. However, anything that is not a natural part of their diet should be given on occasion only as a treat, and in small quantities.
