If I remember correctly, you are not supposed to drink anything through a straw. This is because of the suction that is created in your mouth when using a straw. It can cause the scabs in your mouth to come of prematurely causing possible infection problems.

∙ 14y agoYou cannot drink thru a straw for 24 48 hours you could get a dry socket so if you wanted to drink a smoothie you would need to use a spoon or you would need to just drink it out of the cup

You can eat & drink, the dentist always says that. i got my a couple teeth pulled, and i ate about 2 hrs before that. So you should be ok!
