Codein has always given me a headache, eventhough I used to take it FOR headaches, it was only after I took codeine following surgery did I ealise it gave me a blindingh eadache, usually one- sided and lasting for hours.
Codeine should not be used to help children sleep. Unless it is to suppress a cough that keeps them awake.
no
it will help with some of the physical symptoms, but if the intention is to stop using vicodin, taking codeine is just replacing one opiate with another. codeine is comparably addictive
Does drinking water with promethazine with codeine cough syrup help the medication work better
Well you can have an over dose and go into a deep sleep or you may die
Codeine should be tapered off correctly before taking zyban. Zyban will not help codeine withdrawal, furthermore it may exasberate symptoms such as palpitations, cold sweats and difficulty breathing. I have researched Zyban (bupropian; Wellbutrin) and codeine substantially however I have first hand experience of this and I would not recommend it. See your GP.
Hell No Yo
No Tylenol PM is not addictive. I assume you are taking it to help you sleep instead of for pain? If so, consider just taking an over the counter sleep aid instead. Diphenhydramine is the sleep ingredient in Tylenol PM, so if Tylenol PM works well for you, look for a sleep aid with the same ingredient (Nytol, etc)
The short answer: absolutely not, nor a 'narcotic' per say. Its intended for use as a sleep aid, not a pain killer. Also, morphine and codeine are much different. Morphine is significantly stronger that plain codeine.
No, codeine and codeine phosphate are not the same. Codeine is an opiate used as a painkiller and cough suppressant, while codeine phosphate is a salt form of codeine that is commonly used in medications for pain relief and cough suppression. The addition of phosphate to codeine can affect its solubility and how it is metabolized in the body.
Heroin breaks down into codeine and morphine. Codeine breaks down into morphine. The opiate drug tests look for codeine, morphine, and 6-acetyl-morphine. The presence of 6-acetyl-morphine is relatively conclusive of recent heroin use, but is only detectable for a few hours after use. The presence of codeine can be the result of either heroin or codeine use. The presence of morphine can be the result of the use of heroin, codeine, or morphine. Relative levels of codeine and morphine can help determine their origin.
