Tsunamis are usually caused by earthquakes or volcanoes that cause tremors in the earth in/under/near the ocean. These events can trigger massive waves when they leave the deep water and approach land. So, if there's a large earthquake or volcanic eruption somewhere near the ocean, it's usually a sure bet that you will see increased wave size, perhaps even tsunamis, on adjacent coasts.
Only in a very limited fashion. When a tsunami is triggered it takes time for it to reach a location that is in danger, sometimes several hours. This gives time to warn people who are in the path of it.
The ability to predict a tsunami is still in its earliest stages. Predictors range from primitive visual cues to complex satellite data. The best place to predict tsunamis is in an area where earthquakes are likely, and relatively close to a large body of water.
Scientist are developing a $100 Billion dollar type of machine that they set on the 7 oceans, machines that would detect tsunamis or unusual movement of the tectonic plates, unfortunately this type of machine isn't done yet, and will probably take sometime to. Massive earthquakes is a sign of a tsunami, if your living on the coastline, move to a higher ground regardless of how massive the quake you felt was. Usually cities impose a siren warning, but city officers are as clueless as you are, you need to be prepared and watchful.
If the earthquake is carefully monitored, the tsunami's wave size and arrival time can be roughly predicted, but as scientists cannot predict earthquakes, it makes it difficult.
Scientist has sensors in the world's Oceans .
No. Tsunamis are caused by earthquakes, which cannot be predicted. Some areas have been found to be more easily damaged by a tsunami, and tsunamis can be DETECTED in time to give some warning- but not predicted.
They're called 'natural disasters'. They cannot be predicted - only dealt with when they happen.
Tsunamis that are triggered by volcanic eruptions
Tsunamis cannot be prevented.
yes a tsunami can be predicted

There are similar in the following ways:Both are a kind of natural calamity. Both cause loss of lives and property. Both can't be predicted till now.
Tsunamis and earthquakes cannot be predicted. There is no way to answer your question.
tsunamis are uaually predicted if an earthquake occurs befor then you can expect a tsunami to happen next if you live in a city or town with a ocean near by.Tsunamis are predicted using both satellite and electronic equipment which detects the slightest tremor in the ocean. Calculations are then made about distance from shore, recent weather and the size of the tremor to estimate the probibility.
BTW ... its by tide monitoring station for you beautiful people !!

Not at this time. Tsunamis are formed by undersea earthquakes. Until we have a guaranteed way to predict earthquakes, all we can do is clean up the aftermath of these disasters.
