As you already must know Sickle Cell disease is genetic, but the GOOD NEWS is there is no known risk that babies may develop sickle cell disease.
It's a good idea to first check with a genetic specialist and make your decision from there.
Good luck!
A good number of people have the C (sickle cell) allele but are unaware of it. Also note that most people with the AC genotype show no symptoms. These are carriers. If you have sickle cell disease, your genotype is CC.
If you marry a woman with AC genotype then following are the possibilities:
For every child you'll have together, there is a 50% chance he/she will be AC and a 50% chance
he/she would be CC. It will up to you to see if you want to take the chances.
yes and no in some cases your child will have gene and not always have sickle cell but in the next or later generations they may or may not have sickle cell
it is safe to marry a person with sickle cell, provided that you are not a career of the trait.
no because dried leaves is dried leaves sickle cell people is safe when they touch dried leaves b ut tjhey got to wash they hands or other whys they will like get a fever
If you love a person and know their health issues then you should be doing research on it and no matter what, love knows no boundaries. There are different types of Sickle Cell and it would be to your advantage to go with your partner to their doctor and discuss any problems this disease may cause. Sickle Cell can be genetically passed down (not to the partner) but to children, so children may be out of the picture, but there is adoption and other resources of having children. There will also be medical expenses with a person with Sickle Cell. Here is a good link to learn more about Sickle Cell http://www.sicklecelldisease.org/about_scd/index.phtml
