not true. You can have most cheeses if they are made from pasteurized milk. Most cheese that you find in the supermarket (in the US at least) is made from pasteurized milk. Just check the label. Avoid soft cheeses (brie, feta, goat cheese) when you don't know the source (i.e. a restaurant). Also, string cheese is a great salty type snack and has calcium so enjoy!
