If you're having sex with a woman vaginally then it is not at all safe to use petroleum jelly as this is difficult for the vagina to clean out so can trap bacteria and dirt within the vagina leading to increased risk of infection. Petroleum jelly is also a barrier cream, it keeps moisture in the skin it's on but at the same time doesn't let any additional moisture in - the mucus membranes of the vagina are very delicate so need moisture to keep them protected, petroleum jelly may result in vaginal tissues becoming dry and damaged so increasing risks of TSS and STD's. Besides all this, it's a byproduct of crude oil - who wants that on their genitals!?
