Is it unusual to get a 12 when a pair of dice is rolled?

The only way to get 12 is to roll a 6 and a 6. When you roll one of the dice their is one chance in 6 of getting a six. For two dice it is 1/6 x 1/6 = 1/36. So every time you roll a pair if dice by probability it will happen once every 36 tries.
