We know know that moving up 100 meters on a mountain is roughly equivalent to moving 80 kilometers (45 miles or 0.75° of latitude). Assuming a standard lapse rate of 0,65 ºC per 100 meters, K2 should be about ~5 ºC colder than Mt. Everest on average.
