im not completely sure, but i think its a homogeneous mixture.

because limestone is a solid, if it were a hetergeneous mixture then it would be made up of a solid and a liquid. or a solid and a gas.

? i dont know tho, im only guessing :) Limestone is composed primarily of calcium carbonate but since it is not pure calcium carbonate, it is heterogeneous. Look at the stone, it was formed from shells of sea animals. As they were compressed into rock, all the sand, organic material that remained, and the siliceous foraminifera were compressed along with it. If you see embedded chunks, it is not the same all the way through. If it is not the same all the way through, it can't be homogeneous.
