Loratidine is safe to use in dogs. However, only about 1/3 of dogs will respond to anti-histamine medications. Response to one drug can be different than to others in the same class, though, so it may be worthwhile to try different antihistamines before deciding that they are ineffective in your dog…. Dogs under 25 pounds, give 1/2 of a 10 mg tablet once a day; over 25 pounds try one 10 mg tablet once a day. ( Full Answer )
I'm not a vet, but I would say don't EVER give a dog any medication of any kind without clearing it with a vet. Dogs do NOT have human physiology. If for no other reason than the dosage is too difficult to calculate based on the dog weight in kilograms, etc., leave the prescriptions and medicati…on choices to the veterinarian. If given too much, it can cause all kinds of problems for your dog, especially depending on the size of the dog. Contact a vet. Cats and dogs can and do take claritin for allergies but it is still best to talk to a vet first to determine the best dosage for your pet and possible interactions your vet might know about concerning your particular animal. A professional should be consulted before mixing any medications whether prescription or over the counter. A doctor or pharmacist can warn of any possible interactions. In the case of Allegra and Claritin, there is a duplication of ingredients that can have harmful effects.
There are no known interactions between these two drugs. Loratadine treats allergies. Ibuprofen is an anti-inflammatory and a pain reliever. They work on separate nerve receptors and do not affect each other. What is difference between allegra require a prescription while Claritin can be bought over the counter you believe they are in the same drug category and contain similar ingredients?
Claritin (loratadine) and Allegra (fexofenadine) are both in the 2nd generation antihistamine category, so you are correct - they are both in the same drug category. Loratadine, however, has applied and has bee approved by the FDA for over the counter sales while fexofenadine has not. This is why yo…u can buy Claritin, but not Allegra, over the counter. It is all a matter of approval, not drug type. ( Full Answer )

It will not harm you, it just may not work as well. Do not use this if you have kidney or liver diseas…e of some kind or are breast-feeding. ( Full Answer )
You should probably avoid nefazodone altogether (there is a chance of causing liver failure, which can end up in needing a transplant or death), but if taken together there should be no other adverse effects, apart from the trivial ones of taking too much.
Singulair and loratadine (Claritin, Alavert) are often given together to help control allergic symptoms in patients due to the fact that they have different mechanisms of action. Singulair helps to control the production of leukotrienes while loratadine helps control the production of histamines.

Some indications, such as allergic asthma allow dose ranges from 10-20mg once per day has been used for up to 8 weeks. I've also heard of an elderly patients getting 10mg two times per day.. but that was an accident and not intentional at all! Dosing depends on kidney and liver function..... Long… story short. Probably, but you have to be able to swallow both at once. Have a glass of water available.
No, you do not take two antihistamines at the same time. You may choose either benadryl OR Claritin, but not both. Overdosing on antihistamines causes severe sedative effects which might make you become confused or pass out. You might have trouble breathing. You will get twice the drying out effects…, and will almost certainly get a splitting sinus headache or nosebleed. ( Full Answer )

Yes. Drink plenty of fluids. Use Tylenol, aspirin or an NSAID for fever or headache. This applies to Claritin (Loratadine) and not Claritin D (Loratadine with Pseudoephedrine) For Claritin D Yes. These medications each contain two drugs that treat two different conditions. Mucinex DM is an expe…ctorant/cough suppressant. Claritin D is an antihistamine decongestant. Avoid Claritin D if you have high blood pressure or heart problems. If you develop a fever, take Tylenol (acetaminophen) or Motrin (ibuprofen) with any of these. In my case, the answer is yes. I have asthma, and seasonal allergies. I have been on claritin for years, but this year i have had significant nasal allergies that the claritin hasn't prevented, such as post nasal drip, which then causes congestion and asthma flare ups. So my Pulmonologist just presc…ribed Atepro nasal spray to be taken daily along with claritin. ( Full Answer )
They are not exactly the same. Loratadine is the active ingredient in Claritin (and its generic form), but the "D" in Claritin D refers to the decongestant, pseudoephedrine... so, Claritin D is a combination of loratadine and pseudoephedrine. It's basically like combining regular Claritin with regul…ar Sudafed. If you have no congestion, you don't need the "D". Always ask a doctor or pharmacist if you are unsure or need more information. Also, Claritin contains propylene glycol and should not be used on cats. Dosage for dogs is about half of the recommended human dosage …for medium sized dogs, and about a quarter dosage for small dogs. ( Full Answer )

There are no known drug interactions between loratadine and the morning after pill. You can take them both.
