They are not physically addictive, although they can be psychologically addictive. If you try them and have fun with them you may want to try them again. In theory, though, almost anything can be addicting.

Psilocybin Mushrooms are a stimulant due to the fact that their chemicals bind to receptor sites and mimic the neurotransmitter called Seretonin.

Depressants are actually identified by their ability to block natural neurotransmitters from binding to their proper receptor site. When they are unable to bind, impulsed are stopped, which result in a depression.

They are also a hallucinogen.

No, magic mushrooms are a psychedelic. They contain psilocybin and similar tryptamines, but not methamphetamine.
