No it is not. They sell beer brewing kits.

You can make up to 5 gallons, I think, I month.. I make my own beer all the time. It great fun, and you can make some really nice beers with the kits. It will cost you up front for the hardware, but pays for it self fast.

I help write a book on it, what does what in beer.. after you get started and grow tired of the beer kits, this book helps

It depends on the laws where the person lives. However, it is not illegal when done within your body. Every living human body produces up to about one ounce of pure alcohol each and every day. It's called endogenous ethanol production and is a natural process that occurs in the intestinal tract.

Check with your local laws. As far as I know, you can brew beer at home as long as you don't sell it to people. As for distilled drinks, you must have a license in order to operate a still.
